Troubleshoot emails not getting downloaded in outlook issue

If emails are not getting downloaded in outlook:

Check whether free disk space is available or not
Check communication between laptop to mail server
Try to restart outlook application
Validate username and password over web login
Ensure that "View filters" are not applied
Try to create custom Send/Receive group for just one folder and see if that folder syncs properly. Validate local outlook content against what is visible in web login
Ensure that in send/receive groups refresh time is large enough (Eg 10 min) so that previous sync finishes before new sync is started
Finally if nothing else works try rebooting the system
