To configure management IP to brocade switch use:
# Connect to console port using minicom/hyperterminal.  Login using admin:password
# Check Ip address for interface Management 1/0 and configure ip not present.
# Connect laptop/desktop to management port.  Configure IP in same subnet.  Ping and then SSH to switch.  Login using admin:password.
