To enable very long paths in Windows use:
# Open registry using '<tt>regedit.exe</tt>'
## Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem
## Edit (or create new if required) LongPathsEnabled as 32-bit D-Word value
## Set the value for LongPathsEnabled to 1.
# In case of domain environments also open Group Policy Editor '<tt>gpedit.msc</tt>' on a domain machine
## Got to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Filesystem
## For "Enable win32 long paths" change value to Enabled
