Sound for KVM VMs with 64-bit Windows 7 installed as Guest OS is not supported at time of this writing. For 32-bit hosts use the following devices:
- Windows XP
- es1370
- Windows 7
- ac97
Additional configuration for running VMs as current user, setting vnc_allow_host_audio to 1, etc. as suggested at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_debug_Virtualization_problems#Audio_output might also be required for making things work. The steps have been tried for 32-bit Windows XP on KVM on Cent-OS 6.4 and they worked fine.
