TLP allows managing power settings for laptops for various Linux distributions in optimal manner. To install and use TLP on CentOS 7.0 for possible power savings use:
yum -y install tlp tlp-rdw systemctl start tlp systemctl enable tlp
In CentOS 7.0 tlp configuration file is located in /etc/default/tlp
