To install latest ESXi on older hardware to bypass "Unsupported CPU" error use:

Press Shift+O during boot as suggested at https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.esxi.install.doc/GUID-A33C4CAB-18EE-4C8C-A55D-8AD7E8042BFA.html
Use below boot option
```
allowLegacyCPU=true
```
