Enabling or disabling service on start-up in debian
To enable a service on start-up, assuming /etc/init.d/<service> file exists use:
update-rc.d <service_name> defaults
To disable a service from start-up use:
update-rc.d <service_name> remove
A ncurses based tool named 'rcconf' can be used to get interface equivalent to 'setup' for configuring start-up applications.
