Unfortunately for calender invites with options such as Accept / Decline, the outgoing reply does not automatically goes from the same email ID from which the invitation was received. This can be an issue if you have multiple official email IDs. The best option is to set calendar reply to go from personal gmail ID to avoid conflict. To configure the same on thunderbird use:
- Open Thunderbird after all or at least reply email address has been configured
- Click on "Switch to calendar tab" icon on top right corner. This is near "Switch to tasks tab"
- Go to Edit -> Calendar Properties
- Validate appropriate Email is selected from the drop down list
