It is possible that when a new virtual disk is added to a Linux VM, the same is not visible ('fdisk -l') in the VM. To recognize new virtual disks without reboot use:
echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/host0/scan echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/host1/scan echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/host2/scan
